Q: Does CSL publish a catalog?

Q: Does CSL only manufacture LED fixtures?
A: No. CSL designs and manufactures a broad range of performance-engineered architectural lighting fixtures. Our design and manufacturing teams are in Europe, Asia and the United States. Products are developed to incorporate the latest lamping and electronic technologies into our fixtures (including LED, Flourescent, Halogen, MR16 and Xenon) to offer precision-engineered, highly-functional, energy-efficient and beautiful lighting.

Q: What is an LED?
A: LED stands for light-emitting diode. LEDs are small light sources that become illuminated by the movement of electrons through a semiconductor material, according to Energy Star. LEDs can be integrated into all sorts of products to provide white and colored light, such as flashlights, light bulbs, and integrated light fixtures.

Q: Why is LED so popular right now?
A: Solid-State lighting (SSL), most commonly seen in the form of LEDs, has the potential to revolutionize the efficiency, appearance, and quality of lighting as we know it, according to Energy Star. The U.S. Department of Energy estimates that rapid adoption of LED lighting in the U.S. by 2027 could:
• Deliver savings of about $265 billion
• Avoid 40 new power plants
• Reduce lighting electricity demand by 33% in 2027

Q: How do LED fixtures save energy?
A: Normal incandescent lamps give off heat in the beam of light and are extremely hot to the touch. In fact, incandescent bulbs release 90% of their energy as heat and only about 10 percent as light. In the case of LED’s, heat comes out of the back and is dissipated into the surrounding air through a passive component with fin-like structures known as a heat sink. The system allows well-designed LEDs to basically remain cool to the touch and use energy more efficiently.

Q: Are all LEDs equally energy efficient?
A: Not necessarily. A key factor for energy efficiency, lifespan and performance of an LED fixture, such as downlights for kitchens and baths, is how well the manufacturer designs/engineer’s the product’s ability to dissipate heat. The hotter LEDs get, the less lumens (total amount of visible light emitted by a source) per watt they can produce…and the life of the LED will be affected for the worse. So one of the performance and efficiency goals LED companies are striving towards is being able to increase lumens, light quality and a number of other performance measures while simultaneously decreasing the fixture’s operating temperature through efficient heat dissipation.

Q: How do I get replacement parts for CSL products?
A: Please contact the dealer where you bought the item. They will work with our factory to ensure you get the right parts to correct the issue.

Q: Are assembly and installation instructions included with CSL products?
A: Yes. All instructions are enclosed in our cartons. Typically in the package that includes all hanging hardware and/or parts. You will be happy to know that most of our products require little to no assembly.
